Edward Chan was a brilliant Chinese student who graduated at the University of Texas. He wrote a paper on the theoretical possibility of time travel, but died of cancer and did not do much else. Waldstein used his paper to create the first time machine. In 2015, Chan was visiting the TERI facility with his class as a kid. However, due to a series of contamination events, the Zero Point reactor at the facility exploded, sending him, his class, Liam O'Connor, and Becks into the Cretaceous period.
